Dementia Garden - Medium

PACK 4:
Dementia Garden - Large

A garden design for the young with specialist needs, covering a wide and diverse range of activities for an even wider range of young people.  The garden is designed with over 65% hard surface for those in wheelchairs, with the remainder of the garden laid out in artificial grass, if needs be, with trees planted in specially designed tree pits, all fully underlit for night time interest...
This garden measures 7.5m x 5m and could be viewed as an add-on to a dining area, or similar.  Whilst greatly restricted for space and therefore the range of activities offered, it still remains with the key principle of providing space for either passive sitting or active gardening in the form of a garden club area...
This garden measures 10m x 7.5m and could be built within any nursing home that has restricted space.  Whilst it contains most of the key elements of the larger secure garden, the size allows it to be created as an add-on to an existing garden, or be part of a Dementia unit in its own right... This garden measures 10m x 15m and contains all the main items required to provide a stimulating and interesting Dementia Garden, but without breaking the bank.
This garden provides the most amount of space for all forms of active and non-active stimulation.

Special Needs Garden Design Packs

Tim Lynch Associates has been designing gardens for the elderly and dementia sufferers as well as the young with special needs for over 10 years. During that time, throughout the UK, we have met many owners and operators who have sought to have a secure garden for their dementia patients or a new garden for their special needs younger clients.

However, the outside space available has, on occasion, been small and on a limited budget of between £3,000 - £15,000 for dementia gardens. So we have brought together our experience and knowledge of such gardens and produced a series of design packs to meet most of today’s requirements.

The packs contain all the information on both hard and soft landscape, constructional drawings and a detailed schedule of materials, including where to buy these items relevant for today’s dementia patients.

Added to this, we are offering free telephone/e-mail support and advice on how to construct your garden, should you so require.

The following pages provide further information on what each dementia garden pack contains to enable you to buy a total package of information relevant to you and your care home.

Should your home be for the young with special needs, then we can forward information free of charge to you, to help start fund raising or provide owners and operators with ideas for the future of special needs gardens using modern technology.
